Rude unhelpful staff

For ease of access to the east coast main line I would give it five stars.Very handy little station, yes the waiting rooms are cold but at least you can get out of the wind and rain.Lost one star due to the old sandwich shop closing.

5 stars for the member of staff on duty Wed 31st Oct, 3.45 pm who, not only listened to our dilemma at having missed our train, understood the situation, took prompt action to rectify, said he would be at the platform to ensure that we got on the right train an hour later, which he did with patience and good grace! Thank you!

A railway station on the scenic East Coast Main Line. Steam trains including those hauled by 60103 Flying Scotsman pass through from time to time.

Good ticket office in car park, there's a cafe in one of the waiting rooms and the announcements are clear But be careful of the high speed trains passing
