Our son has gone to this nursery since May 2017. We have found the nursery staff to be pleasant and professional, with any concerns being addressed straight away. Emma had been helpful and flexible to help us in any way she can. We have been highly impressed with the progress our son has made since May 2017. He is very happy to attend nursery and has become a happy cheerful boy socialising with his peers. We are pleasantly happy with how he is looked after and included in his peer group. His key worker is supporting him to met his milestones which he was behind in, and he is now striving ahead with these. I would recommend this nursery to my friends and their friends as they do have the childrens welfare and safety at the forefront.
My three children have attended ladybirds during school holidays and after school and I have to say they couldn't be happier! The activities and outings they provide are incredible from trips to the cinema to trekking around Thorpe Perrow. Emma is always very accommodating and flexible in providing childcare for my children whenever possible at short notice and the nursery has a wonderful welcoming atmosphere. A Fantastic service!!!
I have 2 children both of which have been with emma kerfoot and girls since the beginning...They have both grown into confident and happy individuals which I know is down too the ladies at ladybirds. I trust them all explicitly and if my children ever needed anything they would do it. They enjoy doing all the topics and fun things the ladies set up during the day and I love getting all the bits too look at when they come home. I love that my children love going too nursery...It makes my day a thousand times easier!!!! Thank you ladies!
Both my children have been in the care of Emma and my son attended Ladybirds from just 10 months old. I have to say that Emma and her team are amazing, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ladybirds to anybody. The gang are caring and well qualified and my children made such amazing progress there. I always felt welcome when collecting and dropping them off and was confident that they were in safe hands. They went the extra mile supporting my son with his baby-signing too. It's great when your children get excited to go to nursery and are still happy at the end of the day!
I would rate 0 stars if the option was available. When my daughter first came to this nursery the staff seemed fantastic, however as time went by they seemed to be leaving one by one with various horror stories of the atmosphere in the workplace. Without going into those in too much detail, I would talk about my own personal experience. My daughter was at ladybirds nursery for nearly a year, I was approached one day by a concerned mother whilst getting my hair cut, she spoke to me in detail of an incident involving my daughters brothers at ladybirds nursery which I was unaware of, the incident in question left me in an awkward position without knowing a full and complete story. A few days went by and I decided my best course of action, before anything else would be to contact the nursery to verify that what I had been told hadn't been given to me out of context. I phoned the nursery and spoke to Emma kerfoot who I believe is the proprietor, outlining my concern diplomatically and stating that, obviously, my concern wasn't with the nursery but with the incident in question. Emma became very shirty straight from the off, adopting a very snotty tone she went on in length about the children being split into rooms suiting their age, she seemed very defensive considering the situation. This was completely irrelevant to my concern and a little bit surprising, I again stated I had no issues with the nursery, I simply wanted some information on the incident in question. Emma informed me that due to the Data Protection Act she couldn't speak to me about the incident as I wasn't an immediate relative of the children in question, I mentioned that obviously the other parent she had spoken to about the incident wasn't an immediate relative and again the privileged tone came back quoting the Data Protection Act at light speed, I'm well aware of the Data Protection Act and everything it entails as was essential in my job at the time, but realised I was getting nowhere so asked what she thought my best course of action was, the nursery themselves hadn't actually raised the highly concerning incident with Social Services, so Emma advised I "call them on the Central Switchboard, 0300 number." I later received a phone call from my ex partner explaining how I had contacted the nursery threatening to contact social services on advice from my mum. DPA out of the window again? Misinformation for no other reason then to cause trouble? Other than the lack of professionalism shown in this situation, the lack of flexibility considering the nature of business it is is laughable, there is absolutely no flexibility on swapping days or hours given back when picked up early or nursery days cancelled because of a change in circumstance. Since the incident we have seen my daughter sent home "poorly" when she isn't, she has even been surprised that she is being picked up and not wanted to leave before, received snotty messages and phone calls from the owner when running 5/10 minutes late. Considering the amount of money they have received for days my daughter hasn't actually been there you'd think this wouldn't be such an issue. In summary, I would strongly advise against sending your child to ladybirds nursery, highly unprofessional
